코로나19 여파로 축구선수 준비하는 아이들, 훈련 차질
황희 장관 "실내체육시설 종사자 1만명에게 160만원 지원하겠다"
업계 "선발된 인원에 한해서만 적용되는 등의 한계가 문제"

불과 20년 전만 해도 축구선수를 꿈꾸던 아이들은 흙으로 된 운동장에서 축구를 했다.
지금처럼 어디서든 쉽게 볼 수 있는 인조잔디구장이 흔하지 않던 시절이다.
당시 학부모들은 축구선수를 꿈꾸는 아이들이 운동하면서 조금이라도 먼지를 덜 흡입하기를 바라는 마음에 직접 운동장에 나와 물을 뿌리고 땅을 갈아엎는 번거로운 작업들을 마다하지 않았다.
허범산 풋볼웨이아카데미 코치는 축구선수를 꿈꿨던 어린 시절을 회상하며 "과거에 비해 지금은 아이들이 운동하기에 좋은 환경이 조성돼 있다"고 말했다.
그러나 최근에는 코로나19의 위험에 노출돼 있어 안타깝다며 "선수를 준비하는 아이들은 체계적인 훈련이 진행돼야 하는 중요한 시기임에도 불구하고 코로나19로 훈련 진행에 어려움이 많다"고 하소연했다.
허 코치는 강원FC, 부산 아이파크, 서울 이랜드FC 등 프로 축구단에서 약 10여 년간 선수 생활을 했던 프로 축구선수 출신이다. 올해 초 은퇴를 선언하고 현재 축구 유망주 발굴을 위해 지도자로 활동하고 있다.

현재 허 코치가 근무하고 있는 서울시 성동구에 위치한 유소년축구클럽 '풋볼웨이아카데미'는 코로나19 방역을 위해 매일 환기·소독 관리는 물론 코치들의 동선까지 체크하고 있다.
지난해까지 선수로 활동했던 허 코치는 구단 내에서 자체 진행하는 코로나19 방역 관리감독을 맡았다. 그러나 지도자로 진로를 바꾼 지금은 방역을 위해 아이들에게 한치도 눈을 땔 수가 없다.
허 코치는 "최근 오히려 아이들이 성인들보다도 차량 이동 시는 물론 교육 중에도 마스크를 더 잘 쓰고 운동하는 모습을 보며 마음이 아팠다"고 말했다.

지난 15일, 황희 문화체육관광부 장관은 실내체육시설업계 관계자들과의 간담회를 갖기 위해 허 코치가 근무하는 '풋볼웨이아카데미'를 방문했다.
황 장관은 이날 간담회에서 코로나19에 따른 매출 감소, 고용 위기 등 어려움을 겪고 있는 스포츠산업계를 위한 문화체육관광부와 국민체육진흥공단의 추가 지원 대책을 설명했다.
